Winter Spruce
I always liked this view looking south out my kitchen window. I often spotted wildlife calmly crossing the field without a care in the world as the spruce grove created a visual buffer.

A very different image.
This painting contains many layers of colour. The transformation the painting takes on as the sun tracks through the day is remarkable. The branch is from a tree on a piece of land we hope to build on one day, and serves as a subtle reminder of times to come.
Welcome one and all
Welcome to my online studio.
Here I'll talk about what I'm working on, post images of works in progress, and hopefully start some interesting, thought provoking discussions.
I'm happy to receive any comments or suggestions you may have.
It's timely to start this Blog now as I'm just starting a series of traditional still-life paintings with a musical bent. I'll be working on other pieces as well of course, and I'll post those as well.
Please pass this link onto your friends and family as this collection takes shape over the next few months.
The first painting (shown above) is a commission for some close friends who asked for a painting that would depict "friendship and music." I loved doing this piece so much, that I thought this would be a great theme for a collection.
Enjoy.
